Pricing for Liverpool Cup Game

TICKET PRICING AND HELPING ARSENAL FANS BY MAKING LIVERPOOL CATEGORY B

An email sent to Ivan Gavidis by the AST today. The AST also fully supports the representations made by the BSM and Spirit of Shankly.

Dear Ivan

We are delighted that Arsenal are soon to play some huge games in both the FA Cup versus Liverpool  and the Champions League versus Bayern Munich. It is what we all want to see – Arsenal competing with the best to win trophies.

However we are concerned at the impact the costs of tickets for these games could have on fans, both Season Ticket holders and Red members. We have now of course reached the point where Season Ticket holders will pay additionally for Cup games not included on the Season Ticket.

We would therefore like you to consider making the Liverpool game a category B game and also applying this category B price as the additional game Season Ticket holders will have to purchase.

A category B game still brings in considerablegate revenue and there is of course additional tv money and prize money for progressing in these tournaments.

On top of this Arsenal are benefiting from greatly increased TV revenues for both Premier League and Champions League rights and is now seeing increased revenues start to come on stream as the long term deals with Nike and Emirates end.

A further reason not to have category A is for the impact it will have on a large travelling Liverpool fan base, especially if they are allocated seats in the Upper Tier. We would welcome and support any efforts you might be able to make to have Liverpool guarantee they will do similarly for a possible replay so that our travelling fans benefit.

We look forward to your response on this suggestion and hope the subject can be covered briefly at the next Fans Forum meeting.
