AST applauds work of Arsenal ticketing review group and freezing of prices for next season

The AST today praised the outcome of the strategic ticketing review set up by Ivan Gazidis following supporters’ concern at the imposition of an increase last season.

“During the past year Arsenal executives have liaised closely with the AST and other supporters’ groups as part of a thorough review of all ticketing arrangements.

“The AST put forward three main proposals to the Group based on specific feedback from our members. These were: that the headline price of season tickets should not increase; that if Arsenal play in the Europa League, ticket prices for that competition should be substantially discounted; and that there should be a much improved ticket exchange system to ensure fewer empty seats at home Arsenal matches.

“We are delighted that the club has looked closely at these proposals and are working through plans to address all the points raised.

“In addition we are encouraged that the club is looking at ways to lower prices for many games. This is a vital step towards encouraging new fans and in particular younger supporters, who may not be able to afford the current prices, to see their team live for the first time.

“The improved ticket exchange mechanism includes a specific AST idea that loyalty points are awarded to those who use their tickets most, thereby rewarding the most loyal and dedicated supporters.

“The AST would like to pay tribute to the work of AISA and the Black Scarf Movement who have also consistently promoted this issue and put forward their own detailed suggestions and proposals to the club on ticketing. We hope that in the next year the club will continue to improve and develop its ticketing arrangements, building further on the ideas that supporters have submitted.

“Today’s announcement shows the benefit of supporters and the club working together to create a stronger Arsenal. We are grateful to Ivan Gazidisand his team at Arsenal for all their work on this and look forward to continuing to work with them as the new ticketing arrangements are introduced.”
